Barefoot College International tackles climate change and rural poverty by training underprivileged women as Solar Engineers, Educators, and Entrepreneurs. Their mission centers on democratizing technology and equipping rural communities to become self-sufficient, healthy, and resilient. They work to challenge barriers to gender and energy equality worldwide.

Beyond Water ensures reliable, affordable access to safe water for rural communities in Malawi by transforming how infrastructure maintenance is managed, monitored, and financed. They build a centralized service network rooted in local leadership, digital transparency, and performance-based accountability. Through trained pump mechanics and government partnerships, they deliver year-round preventive and responsive maintenance.

Designing Justice + Designing Spaces is an architecture and real estate development social enterprise working to end mass incarceration by addressing its root causes. They harness design to reimagine public safety and create spaces for restorative justice, community healing, and supportive housing. DJDS provides design, development, research, and thought leadership to help communities in the U.S. replace punitive systems with care-first solutions.

Food for All Africa works to eliminate food waste, poverty, and nutrition insecurity in Ghana and sub-Saharan Africa by building a national systemic response to equitable food distribution. They operate West Africa’s first and largest food support centre, leveraging technology, food banking, and organic waste processing. Their model reduces methane emissions and food waste while increasing nutrition for low-income and vulnerable communities.

Kakenya’s Dream invests in girls and young women from rural communities in southwestern Kenya as agents of change through education, health, and skills development. Their holistic programs engage entire communities to challenge harmful norms and expand what is possible for girls.

Kheyti enables smallholder farmers in India to build climate-resilient livelihoods through affordable agricultural solutions. Their Greenhouse-in-a-Box helps farmers grow high-value crops year-round, protected from pests, heat, and erratic rainfall. Combined with training, support, and market access, Kheyti helps farmers move from survival to security. 

Lively Minds delivers quality early childhood development to rural preschoolers in Ghana and Uganda by activating the power of parents. Their model equips marginalized parents with practical, play-based, culturally relevant tools to support their children’s development using their own resources.

Migrasia is a think-and-do tank focused on eliminating the systemic exploitation of migrant workers. They use a holistic approach across data, technology, enforcement, research, and education to end forced labor and support fair labor systems.

Outdoor Afro celebrates and inspires Black connections and leadership in nature. The organization reconnects Black people in the U.S. to land, water, and wildlife through year-round outdoor education, recreation, and conservation activities such as hiking, kayaking, biking, and skiing.

Range of Motion Project (ROMP) works to ensure access to high-quality prosthetic care for underserved people, improving mobility and independence. They operate locally staffed clinics in Guatemala and Ecuador, using recycled prosthetic components and integrated physical therapy and psychological services. Their community health workers (“Mobilizers”) support patients before and after prostheses, and ROMP shares proven tools, including a mobile app, with organizations worldwide.

SkyTruth uses satellite technology and artificial intelligence to expose ecological harm and promote conservation. For over two decades, they have provided open-source tools that reveal hidden pollution, deforestation, and fossil fuel expansion. Their model combines technical innovation and global transferability to help communities and civil society confront environmental threats and protect biodiversity.

The Antara Foundation works with governments and communities at the last mile in India to end preventable maternal and child mortality at scale. They apply business principles of scale, data use, and smart processes to design simple, sustainable solutions. Their model strengthens community health systems, supports data-driven decision-making, and empowers communities to overcome barriers to quality healthcare.
